RIP Dakota 10.25.19

10.25.2019

I lost my Dakota today, aka Kody-Wody, Kooders, Dicky, Dicky-DooDoo, & Lil Miss Miss Miss💔 She gave us 17 1/2 years of undeniable, unconditional, unbelievable & often underserving love.

And to think~ her breeders were going to put her down because she “wasn’t worth a nickle” since she had a deformed ear & born with hip issues. So I rescued her….. by paying full price for an AKC Championship Bloodline Labrador Retriever. And she was worth every dime”! {Actually, I bought the remaining litter. But who’s counting? Those folks did not deserve to have such beautiful souls.}

And hell yea- she most definitely was a Champion. Her hip issues became her swagger. And her ear was a beautiful daily reminder of how blessed we are to have her.
In 2014 her health took a drastic turn & we thought we were going to lose her & our other lab, Butters. We took them to a vet for a full blood panel & allergy analysis, started them on a clean diet, & then started them on CBD. She’s our original #caninesofcannabis and #hemphound. She’s been taking CBD before CBD was even a thing. And to think we thought we were going to lose her nearly 6 years ago. And so many times since then. Yeah, I’d say she is a Champion. 💜🐶💜 Rest In Peace our lil Dicky Doo. We all love you. 💜🐶💜#theoriginalhemphound #cbdcruisader #therealhempster #cbdpets #cbd4qualityoflife #cbdlife

💜🐶💜 Btw- everything you read about what happens when a dog dies is true. From the sudden bursts of energy & running around like a puppy again just days before, to the wanting to be close to her owner & cuddling on my blanket in front of the fireplace, to isolating to a dark, quiet, sacred space when she knew it was time. I knew then it was time. We made her a bed, covered her with her favorite PITTSBURGH STEELERS blankie, & gave her quite a bit of CBD oil to make her comfortable. We sat with her, petting her, loving her. Telling her its ok & she’s a good girl. Shortly afterwards, she closed her eyes & took her last breath. It’s almost as if she was waiting for us to say it’s ok, to say good-bye. Even our other two dogs came in & sat by her side. Butters slept next to her just like he has for 17 1/2 years & she passed in her sleep. If there is such a thing as the perfect way to pass on, I think this may have been it. 🙏🏻 Rest In Peace our lil Dicky Doo. Till we meet again .

Lovingly, Your Momma
